Taking care of your jewelry
Care of your jewelry
Jewelry are precious possessions that should be treated with care, below is how best to do this. How to keep them clean, clean them safely, and when it is better not to wear them. Always store your jewelry safely when you are not wearing it, for example in the jewelry box you get from us with a piece of jewelry.
Clean your jewelry regularly. This can be done with a soft cloth, or when your jewelry needs a more intensive cleaning with a soft toothbrush, lukewarm water and a very small drop of washing-up liquid. Always dry your jewelry well after this. If the gemstone in your jewelry cannot withstand moisture or requires special care, information about this will be provided with your jewelry. A knotted bracelet or necklace can not be cleaned in the same way, make sure it does not get wet. The wire used for this is incredibly strong, but getting wet mainly contributes to the soiling and wear of the wire and not to getting cleaner. Only its gold clasp can be cleaned in the way below.
Gold will not dull easily. This can sometimes happen when you have not worn a piece of jewelry for a long time, when creams or other care products have been applied to it, or in exceptional cases with earrings and piercings when the acidity of your skin is higher. In this case, you can polish your jewelry with the gold polishing cloth that you always get with jewelry from us.
Avoid detergents and other chemical products, take off your jewelry when doing so. We also strongly recommend taking them off when showering. The soap and other care products do not necessarily cause harm here, but their use will leave residue on your jewelry and therefore need to be cleaned sooner.
Do not wear your jewelry during activities where you can lose it, get caught in something, or when there is a greater chance that you can damage the stone/jewellery. It's also better to take them off when you go to sleep. Safer for yourself, and for your jewelry. Jewelry with a stone is more sensitive, but even jewelry without a stone can bend or break in extreme cases. When a piece of jewelry with a stone has a cabochon cut stone, it is slightly less fragile than a stone that is faceted.
Piercing studs (with a flat labret) and piercing rings prefer not to be changed too often so are an exception to taking them off while showering or sleeping, for example.
