Measuring a ringsize
If you don't know your ring size you can find out by using a ring that fits well, or with a “fitting ring.” If you have a ring that fits well and the width does not differ by more than 2mm from the ring you are measuring for, you can lay the ring very precisely on a ruler and measure the diameter in millimeters of the inside of the ring. Send a picture of this so I can look with you. In case you don't have a fitting ring yet, you can order a fitting ring set HERE. You can also request loaner fitting rings at shipping and return costs. When you then choose a ring, the cost of the (loaner) set of rings will be deducted. If you would like to order a readily available ring online that is not your size, please contact me to discuss options to reduce or enlarge the ring.
How do you measure your finger?
When measuring your ring size, it is important to look for the ring that can go over your knuckle with a little bit of resistance. Once you have found the size slide it on and off a few times, the ring should not be so hard to go over the knuckle that it starts to hurt after a few times. When measuring the size for a pinky ring choose a ring that is tight enough on your finger without being uncomfortable, your knuckle is narrower on this finger so it will not resist losing a ring.
When to measure?
Measuring a ring during the middle of summer on a hot day is not recommended, your fingers will be more swollen during this period. Also when your hands are ice cold the result may not be reliable, they are much thinner in that case. Measuring in the morning when you just woke up or after exercising for example can also result in a different size. If you are unsure about a size, you can try on the fitting ring at a number of different times and compare it.
